Veterinary clinical trials are conducted to demonstrate efficacy and tolerance
of veterinary products. These studies are conducted under conditions of normal
day-to-day use of the veterinary product. Veterinary products investigated in
clinical trials are known to work and are at their final stage of development,
demonstrating their usefulness and tolerance under normal conditions of use.
As with all human pharmaceutical products, all veterinary pharmaceutical products
must undergo clinical trials. The studies are carried out on trial sites; on
the farm for livestock; in the home for companion animals.
