There are many qualities that differentiate a chemical from a drug. From therapeutic efficacy to it's first-pass metabolism in man, there are a variety of characteristics that make it more, or less, likely that a chemical will make an effective and safe therapeutic.
At Huntingdon Life Sciences, we recognise that it can be vitally important to understand as many of these characteristics as possible before committing to animal and human trials. We have therefore devised a suite of services designed to give you the maximum amount of information about your candidate molecules.
We have a number of in vitro and in vivo assays available for testing product efficacy. Whatever your therapeutic indication, contact us to discuss how we can take your project forwards.
Using our unique array of screening assays we can investigate other aspects of molecules that may render them less attractive as a candidate for development. We can design tailor-made strategies to investigate areas already of concern or perhaps more importantly, we can garner a large amount of data on physical chemical properties, metabolic stability, DMPK, electrophysiology, and mutagenicity with only a small amount of material, typically less than 20 mg.
Once a lead has been selected, more investigations into the ADME properties of a compound are amongst the most important in ensuring that it will make an effective therapy. We have devised a number of more in-depth assays to give you important information on the absorption, distribution and metabolism of your candidate molecules.
