Ecotoxicology is essentially the combination of the sciences of
ecology and toxicology. Ecotoxicology studies are used to assess the impact
of crop protection chemicals on the environment.
Results from these studies are used for risk assessments, environmental
impact assessments and environmental management. These results and the risk
assessments can help to develop principles to improve knowledge of the behaviour
and effects of chemicals in living systems.
